This was the first piece of origami I ever attempted to create. It was a bad decision, because it was difficult. Never ever start off with difficult origami. Start with easier folds, and then progressively make more complicated ones. I spent many days hunched over my desk frustrated at these eight square pieces of paper that seemed to never fold the way I wanted them to. With a friend’s help, however, I finally got it made, and now I can make them in only a few minutes. If you look at the picture of the magic star, you’ll see that from left to right it starts out as a star, but if you gently tug on the middle pieces, the star will transform into a wreath-type shape.
